The Truth About Consent (ft. kryptogal)
In which a very brave woman drops some forbidden knowledge
Over the past few days I’ve been enjoying a riveting discussion in the comments section of my article Playing Horseshoes With Regan with follower and soon-to-be podcast guest kryptogal, who writes at Forbidden Closet of Mystery.
kryptogal first came to my attention when she commented on my incendiary tract advocating “traditionalist degeneracy” and defending slutty women, offering an interesting take in support of my thesis:
She also had some interesting pushback on my article arguing that girls are starting puberty at too young an age, which turned into a fascinating exchange with longtime follower Sai Pandit. If you’re interested in the topic I highly suggest you check it out.
But in this piece I’ll be focusing on our exchange in the Horseshoe article’s comments.
The context is that I had rejected Regan Arntz-Gray’s argument that women should take more responsibility for their sexual choices, contending instead that there are many situations where women display a dangerous lack of sexual agency that seems immutable and biologically driven and necessitates some degree of state protection.
I pointed specifically to the frequency with which girls in their late twenties are exploited by long marriage engagements that don’t go anywhere, the tremendous sexual power celebrities like Trump have over women (“they let you do it”), and the subtext of coercion that very agreeable and neurotic women feel behind closed doors with almost any man because of The Implication, which often causes them to consent to sex that makes them feel raped.
As a solution to these issues, I proposed reintroducing breach of promise laws so women can punish ex-fiancés who wasted their final years of peak beauty, and also suggested we create a legal infrastructure whereby a woman is guaranteed financial support if her marriage is broken up by a very powerful man who overrides her sexual agency (think Bill Clinton and Paula Jones). Finally, I suggested introducing a minor civil charge for “rakishness” whereby a woman could collect damages from a man who effectively coerces her into consenting, with the stipulation that a man should be immune from such charges in his personal dwelling / automobile and from his wife.
The idea is these measures would massively reduce the incidence of false rape accusations by giving women protections against the legitimately predatory situations that often precipitate one, while also producing a number of prosocial externalities for sex / marriage / courtship norms.
After reviewing my ideas, kryptogal had some very insightful critiques, being both an accomplished attorney and someone who can speak from ample experience about the bad behavior of men—including some very high status men.
The resulting discussion ultimately sent us down a deep rabbit hole about the nature of consent and mechanics of rape that eventually revealed dark “private positions” from both of us and lots of uncomfortable truths about the world—dangerous and socially destabilizing insights we both agreed that most people aren’t meant to know.
But that’s most people, not the natural aristocrats of the Walt Right! My followers are mature and nuanced thinkers who will only benefit from this forbidden knowledge.
But it’s definitely going behind a paywall—both because it’s extremely spicy and absolutely worth monetizing, and because the content will legitimately upset normies.
