The point about GenZ women is 100% true. If I am working hard getting my education, job experiences and maxxing my looks at the gym, why would I settle for a guy that spends all his time playing video games and jerking off to weird Japanese porn? I think this may lead to a lot of women not caring about “harems” and “concubines” so long as the men we are seeing is performing well at his job and isn’t a total loser. Monogamy might stay, but it is probably going to stay at the top 0.5% of society that is very wealthy, hot and well educated/cultured. This is all probably due to the giant asymmetries in everything.
The Chinese Cultural Revolution. Struggle sessions. That was one of the tells for me too about the nature of current events. I thought the cultural rev was Mao's brainchild, part of an attempt to retain control -- relying on Philip Short's bio of Mao for this -- please don't tell me the book's rubbish (no, do if you think it is). Though of course no-one rules without the mob.
